Evan J. Daniel
Executive Vice President
Evan J. Daniel joined Modern Spaces in 2014 as the Executive Vice President and Founder of the Commercial + Investment Division. In this role, he oversees all investment sales operations for the company, including the sales of multi-family, mixed-use, retail, office, industrial, hotel, and development properties. The division directs retail, commercial, office and industrial leasing as well as property management.
Prior to joining the firm, Evan was a Director of Sales at Massey Knakal Realty Services, exclusively covering the Long Island City and Astoria markets. He has successfully closed 97 properties worth an aggregate consideration of approximately $765,000,000. Evan has advised both private and institutional clients on positioning their assets, and provided valuation services on more than 1,200 properties with an estimated value of over $8 billion.
Outside of his professional life, Evan is an avid sports fan and coach. Since 2006 he has been the basketball coach and Athletic Director for local Junior High School students in Queens.
Evan resides in Long Island with his wife, Laya, and four children, Jake, Allie, Hailey and Brandon.

Michael Ellis
Licensed Real Estate Salesperson
Michael Ellis joined the Modern Spaces Commercial + Investment Division in early 2019, where he focuses on investment sales in Maspeth and Elmhurst. Michael brings an extensive financial background having been a Senior Lending Officer at a major money-center bank, a Registered Investment Advisor, as well as having run a private equity firm.
In addition, he has been an entrepreneur, who founded, managed and then successfully sold multiple FinTech firms to Fortune 500 companies. Michael has decades worth of hands‐on real estate experience, including financing, investing in and selling commercial properties.
Michael received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA, where he currently serves as a Trustee and Chair of its Investment Committee. He also earned an MBA from The Lubin School of Business at Pace University.
As avid outdoorsman, Michael enjoys whitewater rafting, fly fishing and hiking in the Adirondacks.
Michael is a native New Yorker born in Greenwich Village and raised in Chelsea as well as the Upper East Side of Manhattan. He currently lives on Center Blvd in Long Island City.
